Considering that it's June and the official start of summer is just around the corner, you'd think that the weather would be awesome by now. But of course it's only been getting worse since those few hot and sunny days we had in May. This week has been especially windy and rainy, and that is just delaying the build up of excitement for summer fun. You know that feeling, when the weather really starts getting hot and you start thinking of all the potential fun to be had because summer is about to begin?
Numerous BBQ meals, drinking beer on a patio in the warm sun, wearing shorts and sandals, never worrying about forgetting your jacket somewhere because you don't need to wear one, cold coffee drinks, sleeping with the fan blowing in my face all night, the smell of sun block, VEMF, popsicles, golf, long hikes... it's a lot to look forward to. But I'm not getting that feeling by looking out the window this week. In fact, it's the exact opposite. So I'm hoping to wake up to clear skies tomorrow and a hint of summer. I'm hoping this weekend will finally bring that feeling of anticipation. And most of all, I'm hoping I won't be hiking through Roach Cove in the rain on Sunday.
